Google Integration

CampusKnot’s Google Integration allows Faculty to connect their favorite Google Apps to their account. With our integration you can:

  • Connect your Google Calendar and Drive accounts
  • Sync all your Google calendars and view them within CampusKnot
  • Generate shareable links to and copy Google Drive files

Prerequisites

Access to a Google account

Faculty account with CampusKnot

Installation

  • 1.Click on the Planner or Documents tab on the left hand navigation bar.
  • 2.On the right hand side, click Connect under the 'Google Drive' (or 'Google Calendar' if you're under Planner).
  • 3.In the pop up dialog box, enter your Google credentials and click Next.
  • 4.You will be prompted to grant permission for CampusKnot to access your Google account. Click Allow.
  • 5.You will be redirected to CampusKnot and you should now be able to see both your Google Drive and Google Calendar connected.

Uninstalling

  • 1.To disconnect the integration, navigate to the Planner or Documents tab on the left hand navigation bar.
  • 2.On the right hand side, click Disconnect under the 'Google Drive' (or 'Google Calendar' if you're under Planner).
  • 3.In the pop up dialog box, click Yes.
  • 4.Your Google Account account should now be disconnected from CampusKnot.

Using the Google Integration

Google Calendar

View Events

To view your Google Calendar events:

  • 1.Click on Planner in the left hand tab.
  • 2.You should be able to view your Google Calendar events here. These events are tagged with a blue 'Google Calendar' icon.

Invite, Share, or Copy Events

To invite users to your Google Calendar event:

  • 1.Click on Planner in the left hand tab.
  • 2.Click on the dropdown next to the event.
  • 3.Next, click on 'Invite Users'.
  • 4.Enter the name of the Group or the individuals you would like to invite to the event.
  • 5.Finally, click on 'Send'.
  • 6.Your invite should now be sent.

To copy your Google Calendar event to the CampusKnot Planner:

  • 1.Click on Planner in the left hand tab.
  • 2.Click on the dropdown next to the event.
  • 3.Next, click on 'Copy Event'.
  • 4.Next, enter a date and time for this copied event.
  • 5.Here, you also have the option to add video conferencing.
  • 6.Enter the name of the Group or the individuals you would like to invite to the event.
  • 7.Your event should now copied and the invites should now be sent.

Google Drive

Copy or Generate Links to files:

To generate links to files:

  • 1.Click on Documents in the left hand tab.
  • 2.On the right hand side, click on 'Google Drive' to view your files.
  • 3.Next, click on the file you want to share, and then click on 'Copy to campusKnot-docs or generate link'. You can also drag and drop this file into the Documents folder.
  • 4.You should now see the option to 'Generate a link'.
  • 5.Once you click on the 'Generate link' button, wait until the page reloads.
  • 6.Your should now see a clickable link to your file that can be shared, renamed, copied, or deleted.

To copy the file:

  • 1.Click on Documents in the left hand tab.
  • 2.On the right hand side, click on 'Google Drive' to view your files.
  • 3.Next, click on the file you want to share, and then click on 'Copy to campusKnot-docs or generate link'. You can also drag and drop this file into the Documents folder.
  • 4.You should now see the option to 'Copy Document'.
  • 5.Once you click on the 'Copy Document' button, wait until the page reloads.
  • 6.Your should now see a copy of your file that can be shared, renamed, copied, deleted, or downloaded.
